It's a new year which means it's time to get back into the groove with MIDWEEK on Wednesday nights. There are a bunch of exciting adventures in store for Authentic Youth as we welcome our new Student Minister Scott Shelton into the mix, but before he arrives on January 15, Chris is going to share some brand-spanking-new lessons with you at MIDWEEK.
The Personnel Committee and Leadership Team have asked Chris Stapper to step into a new role as Teaching Pastor of First Baptist Church. This job will encompass and expand Joe Wood’s former responsibilities. Chris feels God’s call in this new opportunity.
Chris will speak more about this opportunity at MIDWEEK on Wednesday, October 12 at 7pm in the ROC. During this time, he will elaborate on the call he feels and share the next steps in this process. Be assured, Chris will remain in his current position until a new Student Minister has been called and is on the job. There will be no gap in student ministries.
There is a Quarterly Business Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 19 at 6:17 PM in which this change in position will be presented and voted on by the church.
Chris and Erin have overseen a transformational time in student ministry over the past 5 years. While we recognize that no one person defines a ministry, we acknowledge the impact that they have had on the lives of students in Athens. We invite you to MIDWEEK on October 12 and the Quarterly Business Meeting on October 19 to share in the process and excitement of this new chapter for Chris and FBCA.
